Your Opportunity:

The Supervisor Linen and Environmental Services (LES) is a key leadership role in the LES portfolio & reports directly to the Manager, LES. This position is responsible for the coordination of the front-line level of leadership for activities and performance of all LES services within the portfolio. This position is accountable for ensuring that LES Services are delivered in accordance with policies, procedures, regulations and legislation in AHS facilities. This position assists with budgets, reports on variances & identifies remediation strategies, monitors Operational Best Practice targets, tracks key performance indicators, identifies efficiencies & promotes optimal use of resources while making recommendations on current & future services adjustments to staff budgets and service delivery models. This position is responsible for participating in the development and implementation of policies & standards to ensure high quality service. The Supervisor ensures that operations support LES strategic plan/priorities. This position provides direction, coaching & mentoring to Working Leaders and/or delegates. They collaborate on HR management and contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive workplace environment. The Supervisor is responsible for building & maintaining exceptional customer service relations and must anticipate situations across the site(s) that impact services. This position oversees the monitoring, planning and organization of LES, setting staffing levels, development of work routines and maintaining accurate records within LES. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Required Qualifications:

Supervisor experience in Linen, Environmental Services, and Portering. Knowledge of IPC best practices and protocols in regards to all surface cleaning and outbreak management. Knowledge of relevant Occupational Health and Safety issues. Knowledge of AHS policies, practices and processes as asset. Knowledge of all Environmental Services products, chemicals and equipment used to perform functions of operational area preferred.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Ability to establish priorities, schedule work and assign resources effectively. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within a large, diverse organization and managing within a unionized sector. Ability to interpret and apply the AUPE GSS collective agreement as applicable. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development.

Preferred Qualifications:

Two years experience in health services delivery, including practical experience in change leadership, and process improvement. 2+ years of managing direct reports and physical resources within an operating environment. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others.
