Description:
Reporting to the Manager, the Supervisor has direct responsibility for maintaining operations at the site level, aligning AHS, Nutrition, Food, Linen and Environmental Services (NFLES), and site priorities with the delivery of Environmental Services. Responsibilities and accountabilities include Operational leadership and human resource management for frontline employees, to ensure service levels and priorities are achieved and the development and maintenance of a positive workplace environment. Effective communication and engagement ensure site compliance to guidelines, standards and regulatory directives as it relates to Environmental Services. Key contact to site administration and patient care for matters relating to Environmental Services. Participates and promotes quality improvement activities and workplace health and safety. Ensures safe work practice and conditions. Monitors, analyzes and manages supply and labor expenses to achieve financial targets

Post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in Business and/or Service Management. (High School Diploma, supplemented with leadership, management or supervisory courses will be considered). Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or leadership position. Ability to work independently Proficient computer skills (email, create documents using Word, update spreadsheets using Excel, collaboration virtually using teams or a similar platform). Must be able to function with a high degree of autonomy, demonstrate critical thinking skills and have the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Physically capable to lift, push and pull 50lbs on a regular basis.
Additional Required Qualifications:Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment.
Preferred Qualifications:Healthcare experience is preferred. Supervisory experience in a unionized working environment is preferred. Knowledge of Infection, Prevention and Control practices is also desirable.
