Required Qualifications:

Masters in Theology and/or Spirituality/Religion or a clinically related field with confirmation of educational equivalency obtained from the Academic Assessment Committee of the national professional association, Canadian Association for Spiritual Care/Association Canadienne de soins spirituels, (CASC/ACSS). 2nd Advanced Level, Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) with a commitment toward certification as a spiritual care practitioner, (CASC) within three years. Current Membership or Associate Membership of CASC/ACSS. Enhanced professional leadership skills to foster the interdisciplinary capacity for spiritual screening, history taking, and spiritual care clinical intervention and support. Demonstrated ability to collaborate respectfully with various religious/spiritual and cultural groups. Complete as per requirements of service area: minimum of CPR and BLS. Minimum of two to five years of relevant experience.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience facilitating education in spiritually-informed care. Educational and/or other qualifications are required to perform in the clinical practice area(s). Effective communication, problem-solving, change management and organizational skills. A demonstrated a clear pattern of professional and personal development. Demonstrated skills in reflective and collaborative practice, active listening, negotiation, advocacy, and conflict resolution. Knowledge of and skills to address the needs of people encountering crisis, disability, loss, bereavement and end-of-life care.


Preferred Qualifications:

CASC Certified Spiritual Care Practitioner; certification equivalency; or eligibility for certification. Experience with Telehealth or virtual platforms. Professional computer and technology skills to facilitate interdisciplinary charting and communication. Demonstrated knowledge of community resources and ability to establish external partnerships. Proactive in developing and implementing strategies to resolve issues and problems, and creating safe space.
