Your Opportunity:

We are seeking a full-time, regular (1.0 FTE) Speech-Language Pathologist II to join our collaborative, interdisciplinary team. This position is primarily hospital-based, providing assessment, treatment, and consultation for adult inpatients and outpatients. In addition, the role includes supporting community-based Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) services. This is an excellent opportunity for an SLP who thrives in a dynamic clinical environment, enjoys variety in caseload, and values both acute care and community-focused practice. Position Highlights: Provide advanced clinical assessment and intervention for adults with communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in a hospital setting. Supervise and direct therapy assistants. Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, social work, dietitians, and other allied health professionals. Deliver community AAC services, including device assessments, trials, programming, and caregiver education. Support transitions of care and participate in discharge planning. Provide support and cross coverage for the SLP team. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, clinical education, and mentorship of junior staff or students as appropriate.

Description:

As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide clinical professional practice both independently and as a part of a collaborative team, which may include external partners. You will be responsible for providing prevention, health promotion, identification, assessment, intervention, and case management. You will participate in the planning, coordination and delivery of rehabilitation services in collaboration with patients/clients, families, healthcare professionals and other partners. Your leadership and interpersonal skills will aid you in supervising students and providing clinical guidance to other staff as appropriate. You will use your clinical expertise to inform ongoing quality improvement, service integration, and program development.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).

Preferred Qualifications:

At least one-years' experience in acute care, dysphagia management and/or adult outpatient setting. Experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication devices. Positive interpersonal relationship and communication skills.
