Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Current Heart & Stroke CPR (BCLS-HCP) certification is required. Candidates must have at least six months of experience managing dysphagia in an adult acute care setting, as well as demonstrated ability to independently complete videofluoroscopic swallowing studies. Strong clinical reasoning skills are essential, along with excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, planning, and organizational abilities. Must be experienced working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, while also being capable of practicing independently. Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required. Candidates must be physically capable of assisting with patient transfers and repositioning, and able to tolerate wearing a lead vest for up to 30 minutes during procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with marginalized populations, along with a strong understanding of inner-city clients and available community resources, is preferred. Familiarity with Connect Care is also considered an asset.
