Description:
As a Specialist, this role is key in fulfilling deliverables and accountabilities that include but are not limited to: Technical design, development, publication and maintenance of eLearning and multimedia tools. Collaborating and ensuring HIM/organizational/learning industry alignment. Effective facilitation to implement and deliver eLearning and multimedia strategies. Focusing on HIM learning and development service optimization. Building and growing relationships with collaborators, internal and external to AHS. The Specialist may be assigned other duties by the Director, Provincial Strategic Initiatives, and may also receive service requests from the office of the Senior Provincial Director, HIM; Executive Director, Provincial Strategies & Initiatives, HIM; and/or other members of the HIM Leadership team. There is flexibility as to this position location within Alberta.

Specialized certification with degree level training (preferred) in Adult Education and/or a college diploma in a related field is required. Understanding of various learning modalities that can be applied to the adult learning process for diverse HIM staff with varied skill sets and learning requirements. Understanding of adult education learning principles, practices and requirements in the work environment. Understanding of instructional design principles and technologies. Experience in a healthcare environment would be an asset with a focus on HIM. Equivalencies of education and/or experience with demonstrated competencies in these areas will also be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Exceptional skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint Online, Publisher, and Visio. Strong knowledge and user capabilities of Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate. Familiarity with web authoring and HTML. Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator. Knowledge of AHS-supported survey and evaluation tools. Strong communication, technical writing and editing skills. Strong organizational and prioritization skills. Ability to collaborate with teams and work independently to reach timelines and goals. Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to get along with a wide variety of people. Proven document management skills. Creativity in producing content and determining the best delivery method.
Preferred Qualifications:
Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or PROSCI (Change Management) designations. Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) designation would be an asset. Demonstrated ability to positively influence and facilitate change. Understanding and knowledge of implementing eLearning and traditional tools and virtual training techniques. Experience in developing and presenting content to diverse audiences.
