Your Opportunity:

The Centerpoint program is an outpatient forensic unit that supports youth and young adults who are in conflict with the law. The successful candidate will be able to make excellent decisions in collaboration with a diverse multi-disciplinary team. The role is an important collaborative role, which utilizes clinical judgement balanced with compassion, care and empathy. Knowledge of the youth criminal justice system is imperative. In this position, the successful Social Worker will contribute to Section 34 Assessments working collaboratively with the client, his/her family and other professionals. This role has high caseload demands with often-tight timelines to provide reports back to the Youth Criminal Justice System. This vacancy is a maternity leave cover off for a 12-18 month leave.


As a Social Worker III, you will perform either advanced level assessment and treatment or act as a clinical lead. You will work with or within teams to provide health care services for patients with complex and multidimensional medical, psychosocial, environmental and instrumental needs. You will provide advanced clinical services, consultation to the interprofessional team and patients/families and supervision of students and team members as assigned. You may also act as clinical lead providing leadership in the planning, development, delivery of services in a specific area, as well as staff development, quality improvement and evaluation or research activities as identified by the needs of the service area(s).

Required Qualifications:

Completion of master's degree in Social Work. (equivalent education or experience may be considered). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 2 years working with Youth and Young Adults in a forenic environment is required.
