Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years clinical experience in an adult hospital and/or outpatient social work role. Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a social worker in cancer care. Experience mentoring, coaching, educating peers and the ability to facilitate practice growth in others. Demonstrated knowledge/engagement in social work/psychosocial services related to best practices, governance, legislation, ethics, current issues. Demonstrated clear pattern of professional/leadership development. Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and foster collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Knowledge and application of trauma-informed care. Experience with grief and loss care. Understanding of the impact of Indigenous people’s history, culture and of reconciliation. Demonstrated ability to identify, manage and resolve conflict. Demonstrated ability to implement/facilitate program and practice change within a complex health care environment. Leadership experience in service planning, coordination, implementation, reporting, monitoring and evaluation. Proficient computer skills/use of clinical information systems are required (e.g. Microsoft Office, Connect Care, MS Teams). Experience providing virtual care (zoom, phone, telehealth).

Preferred Qualifications:

8+ years experience in hospital and/or outpatient social work. 5+ years of cancer care experience. Professional development related to cancer within the last year. Change management education (i.e. PROSCI). Within the last 2 years, experience with the Alberta Cancer Foundation’s Patient Financial Assistance Program (PFAP), and other assistance programs specific to cancer. Past clinical supervision of interdisciplinary allied health teams (i.e. team/clinical leader experience).
