Completion of master's degree in Social Work. (equivalent education or experience may be considered). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:Current CPR (BLS - Health Care Provider Level C) certification required. Effective organizational and time management skills required. Experience working with diverse cultural groups and vulnerable populations. Working knowledge of relevant legislation that may include Mental Health Act, Health Information Act, and keep current with appropriate discipline related literature. Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team. Ability to initiate work both independently and as a team member, and make sound professional decisions in a complex multidisciplinary environment. Good understanding of health promotion and determinants of health, including theory, knowledge and practice. Recent experience in working with patients/families facing chronic and/or life threatening illnesses required.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with renal population preferred. Previous Social Work experience in an acute care hospital preferred/asset. Working knowledge of computers and clinical documentation processes an asset. Authorized by ACSW to provide Psychosocial Interventions preferred. Non-Violent Crisis intervention preferred.
