Your Opportunity:

Reporting/accountable to the program/service manager, the Stollery Social Work Team Lead/Clinical Lead is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and coordination of staff, programs and services within their assigned area which can be a site, unit and/or program. The Team Lead/Clinical Lead is responsible for mentoring, responding to clinical questions and coordinating ongoing skill development to deliver effective clinical services based on evidence and population need across the continuum of health. Additionally, this role coordinates the day-to-day planning, development, delivery and evaluation of programs and services for the assigned area. This position typically leads interdisciplinary program staff and/or departments to provide evidence informed services within program parameters and in adherence with Alberta Health Services (AHS) and other relevant legislation, standards, guidelines, policies and procedures. The Team Lead/Clinical Lead participates in, and implements quality improvement initiatives, program development, evaluation and knowledge translation within the program. This role provides assistance to the manager in selection, orientation, supervision and evaluation of interdisciplinary program staff. The Team Lead/Clinical Lead advises the manager in the day-to-day operational decision-making, coordinates program orientation and professional development and provides input regarding staff and team performance. Daily coordination of the program may include workload utilization, scheduling, referral triage, prioritization, equipment management and interdisciplinary student placements. The Team Lead/Clinical Lead may consult on complex patient care scenarios and may provide clinical services.

Description:

As a Social Worker III, you will perform either advanced level assessment and treatment or act as a clinical lead. You will work with or within teams to provide health care services for patients with complex and multidimensional medical, psychosocial, environmental and instrumental needs. You will provide advanced clinical services, consultation to the interprofessional team and patients/families and supervision of students and team members as assigned. You may also act as a clinical lead providing leadership in the planning, development, and delivery of services in a specific area, as well as staff development, quality improvement and evaluation or research activities as identified by the needs of the service area(s).

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience supervising practicum students. Competency in appropriately applying Social Work approaches, theories, and AHS Core Clinical Activities in pediatric settings. Demonstrated ability in leading teams, providing oversight, teaching, and the ability to facilitate practice growth in others. Advanced experience navigating complex and sensitive issues across a range of settings while being aligned with SW ethics and standards. Extensive experience succeeding at collaborative practice and delivery of interdisciplinary care. High degree of professional integrity, resourcefulness, and independent judgement. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Diversity and Inclusion training. Indigenous training and cultural awareness completed. 3 years' experience in acute care pediatric tertiary hospital setting. Must be highly organized with the ability to prioritize.

Preferred Qualifications:

A proven team player with the ability to engage both families and dynamic professionals is essential. Analytical skill. Well-developed written and oral communication. Must be highly organized. 5+ years of operational leadership experience. 5+ years of relevant clinical experience. Competency in Connect Care usage and activity capture.
