Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:Applicants must demonstrate a career specialization in working with women and families, and newcomers, along with a strong commitment to continued professional practice and learning. Experience with Meditech or within an Electronic Medical record is required along with competency in using Microsoft Office. Demonstrated experience in psychosocial assessments, resource referral, and crisis support/referral are required. Experience working with families facing family violence/conflict along with involvement with Children's Services is a required competency. More than 3 years’ experience in the Calgary community with services and referrals is required and the candidate must possess a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a social work role. Must exhibit excellent communication skills, team collaboration, and professionalism. Experience with culturally diverse communities is required. This position requires the Social Worker to carry equipment including laptop and a variety of resources to home environments which includes moving, lifting, sitting and standing for long periods. Daily driving in a variety of environmental conditions is required. The Social Worker must have the ability to manage independently with crisis clients (e.g. domestic violence), use advanced assessment skills and judgement and act quickly for client and staff safety.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in group facilitation and psychoeducation is an asset. Experience in trauma-informed care and cultural competency is an asset. Experience in a community setting and in home visitation is strongly preferred. Knowledge of prenatal and postpartum resources in the Calgary community is strongly preferred. Fluency in a second or third language is an asset.
