Social Worker II
Your Opportunity:
Working collaboratively and as part of a multidisciplinary team, the Social Worker II works in a fast-paced environment to provide Social Work supports to patients and families who are receiving service within the ICU and Emergency Departments. Services include psychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, education, treatment, advocacy, resource finding, and consultation, making appropriate referrals both internal and external to the hospital and liaising with community agencies/programs. The Social Worker participates in non-patient care activities such as program planning, evaluation, quality improvement research and staff development, along with other duties as required. Please note this position is on a 5 on and 5 off rotation this includes weekends and long weekends.

As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 2 years of experience. This position requires a high degree of independence, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and an ability to prioritize workload. Knowledge and ability to use computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Outlook and Teams is highly recommended. Previous experience working in the health care system is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of trauma informed practice, grief and loss, crisis intervention. Knowledge of connect care.
