Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working as an RSW in renal acute care/ambulatory setting or recent experience working with patients facing chronic and/or life-threatening illnesses required. Cultural awareness and sensitivity, and experience serving vulnerable populations are essential. The candidate will hold working knowledge of the health care system, community resources, and relevant legislation and decision-making (Personal Directives Act, Mental Health Act). The candidate will have demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and effectively with teams, patients and their families in a fast-paced environment. Ability to initiate work and make sound professional decisions using critical thinking and problem-solving skills, in a complex multidisciplinary environment, and seek support and guidance from leadership as needed. Good understanding of health promotion and social determinants of health. Strong time management skills are required to prioritize and complete assigned tasks. Current Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) certification is required. Demonstrated clarity in your communication, organization and consistency of ideas, both verbally and written, including clinical documentation, is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency with Microsoft office including Word and Outlook are preferred. Experience using Connect Care preferred. Master's Degree is an asset. Authorized by ACSW to provide Psychosocial Interventions preferred. Training in suicide prevention; risk assessment; and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention preferred.
