Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 2 years’ post-degree medical Social Work experience. Heart & Stroke BLS- HCP. Experience providing supportive counseling. Training and working experience in trauma-informed care, culturally safe practices, palliative care or working with patients facing life-limiting illnesses. Experience in adult oncology, and/or palliative care in a healthcare setting. Experience providing virtual care within the last two years. Experience collaborating within interdisciplinary teams and navigating complex care systems. Excellent clinical documentation, care planning, and patient advocacy. Proficiency with Connect Care/EPIC and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:NVCI. 5 years’ experience in adult oncology. Familiarity with psychosocial oncology and cancer-related resources. Minimum 2 years’ experience in mental health support, suicide risk/crisis intervention (e.g. SPRAM and ASIST). Knowledge of harm reduction/risk mitigation approaches. Adult education/facilitation experience e.g. train-the-trainer models. Proficiency using validated screening tools.
