Social Worker II
Your Opportunity:
Recovery Alberta (RA) are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our team at Wood Buffalo Addiction & Mental Health Services (WAMHS). This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, with evening availability required. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will work both independently and collaboratively to support a diverse population in individual and group settings. Flexibility is essential as you contribute to programs such as the Walk-In Clinic, Child and Youth Program, Travel Team, and Adult Mental Health and Addiction services. A valid Class V driver’s license is required, and some travel may be involved. In this role, you will provide crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management, and treatment. You will help patients and families maintain continuity of care and connect clients to appropriate community services. Responsibilities include following up with clients who face challenges attending sessions, staying familiar with community agencies, and assisting clients to access social and financial resources. You will also build and sustain strong relationships with community partners, Located in beautiful Fort McMurray which resides on Treaty 8 territory, and on the traditional lands of the Metis. As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience or training in delivering culturally safe and trauma-informed care. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Preferred Qualifications:Experience with harm reduction approaches and experience working with individuals facing houselessness, poverty, substance use, and mental health challenges. Non-violent Crisis Intervention certification.
