Your Opportunity:

The Social Worker II reports to the area manager and the clinical supervisor. Referrals are received from addictions counsellors and mental health therapists for active clients on their caseload who require social work support. This position is located out of Bonnyville, however, will support clients in Cold Lake and St. Paul as well. The position works with children and adults, community agencies, other members of the mental health and addictions team as well as the multidisciplinary team at large. With a population of over 6000, the town of Bonnyville is located approximately 2.5 hours northeast of Edmonton. The Bonnyville area is well known for its oil and gas industry. The Town’s motto – “it’s Multi-Natural” – refers to the Town’s celebration of its diverse cultural heritage and rich natural resource. As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.
