Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Heart & Stroke Foundation – Basic Life Support (CPR) certificate. Diversity and Inclusion training. Indigenous awareness training. Indigenous Background. Current experience working with the Awasisak Indigenous Health Program. experience in an acute care pediatric hospital setting. expertise in NIHB, Jordan’s Principle and government programs. Ability to set priorities and organize time effectively. Ability to work in stressful, demanding, and changing conditions. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a number of multidisciplinary teams. Advocates, translates, and liaises to ensure families’ concerns and ideas are heard by the multidisciplinary team. Integrating cultural knowledge into his/her practice with Stollery families. Build rapport and relationships with families coming from a shared history. Knowledge of and respect for the range of cultural perspectives within the Indigenous community is essential. Engages Spiritual Care and Cultural Services and ensures families may access culturally preferred ceremonies and practices, as requested.

Preferred Qualifications:

Fluency in English and at least one Indigenous language an asset. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Analytical skills and well developed written and oral communication.
