Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:Applicants for this position will be a Registered Social Worker and registered with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW). Experience providing pro-active engagement of difficult to engage clients and effectively collaborating with a wide variety of care providers, agencies and stakeholders are required. Critical thinking skills, advanced knowledge of mental illnesses, and evidence based/evidence informed treatment (including risk assessment, crisis management, concurrent disorders treatment, harm-reduction), working knowledge and experience of the identification and management of complex addiction, mental illness, and chronic disease are required. Experience working with homeless populations and knowledge of Edmonton inner-city/correction centers resources are essential.
Preferred Qualifications:5+ years of work experience in mental health and/or addictions as SWII or III. 2-3 years of work experience with homeless and/or corrections individuals is preferred. Basic Cardiac Life Support- Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP). An excellent attendance record and personal suitability must be demonstrated through your employment record and references. Required to provide a vehicle for business use, along with acceptable driver's abstract and proof of business.
