Your Opportunity:

The Site Manager Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders in order to provide leadership to the services in the community and rural health department of the Calgary Zone. This position will be required to ensure that the site meets or exceed the requirements of the Continuing Care Health Service Standards and the current evidence based practice for dementia care. The Site Manager is responsible for the leadership, management and disposition of resources for the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre. The Site Manager works collaboratively with the Director, physicians, staff and other leaders to ensure integration of health services. It is expected that the Site Manager will actively participate as a member of leadership teams - in the service area and in the region.


The Site Manager Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre is a key leadership role in the Calgary Zone Rural Health and reports directly to the Director Rural Health. The Site Manager is accountable for the integrated day to day operations of the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre. This position is the primary point of contact for staff, residents, families and the public for site specific care delivery processes and concerns. The site manager is responsible for strategic planning for the site including identifying and responding to community and operational needs, establishing strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, program development and evolution, promotion of programs and management of associated change processes. The position is also responsible and accountable for making key decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for establishing and contributing to the achievement of the goals of the community and rural health department of the Calgary Zone.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a Baccalaureate Degree in a health related discipline. Working knowledge of the health care system is required. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development.

Additional Required Qualifications:

In addition, the incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Progressive leadership experience in health care including 3 years’ experience in a management role in health care – experience in continuing care is an asset. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, resident/family focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of 3 years management experience, with continuing care experience preferred.
