Active registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) is required. A minimum of five (5) years’ experience and within the last three (3) years in a leadership role with experience in surgery and/or acute care/ O.R. Emergency. A minimum of five (5) years’ experience within the last ten (10) years in the following units: General Surgery, General Medicine, Combined Med/Surg, Acute Care, Sub-Acute, etc.). Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated progressive leadership experience in a healthcare environment, including management roles within health service operations. Proven ability to communicate effectively, supported by strong organizational and influential skills, a client-focused approach, and a commitment to delivering high-quality services. Exceptional leadership capabilities, including confidence in decision-making, coaching and mentoring, and the ability to inspire and instill confidence in others.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred. Knowledge of legislation and regulation related to healthcare. Knowledge of unionized work environments/union collective agreements.
