The Site Managers support site capacity & patient flow and provide leadership to the bed placement team during standard operating hours. Additionally, during non-regular business hours (evenings, nights, and weekends), the Site Manager provides operational management, direction, and leadership to the entire UAH and Mazankowski sites. Description:
Reporting directly to the Program Manager – Site Operations, the Site Managers provide around-the-clock coverage to the University of Alberta Hospital and the Mazankowski Heart Institute. During regular business hours the Site Manager provides effective oversight to ensure efficient utilization of resources to ensure the site functions at optimal capacity. The Site Managers oversee the patient placement team to support and lead the coordination of patient flow ensuring bed allocation and patient movement guidelines are followed. During non-regular business hours, the Site Managers are also the primary contact and proxy manager for all on-site staff in the event of issues or incidents requiring escalation and/or support. Incidents may include a mass casualty, flood, fire, acts of violence, challenges with patients/families etc. Additionally, the Site Manager works collaboratively with Unit Managers and other leadership to ensure site support around-the-clock by facilitating problem solving between units and acting as a resource for all frontline staff requiring support. The role is responsible for escalating patient care concerns and coordinating the resolution of issues. Please note this position requires shift work including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing – BN, BScN or equivalent. Active, or eligible for, registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years nursing experience in a complex, acute care hospital setting. Minimum 3 years leadership experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio). Demonstrated organizational, judgment and decision-making skills. Exceptional leadership abilities – including ability to develop and maintain personal relationships, effective conflict management and team building skills. Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize a demanding workload and work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters prepared or in process – in Nursing, Health Administration, Public Health, Leadership or Business. Proficiency in Connect Care, ePeople and RMS.
