Your Opportunity:

The Medicine Hat Regional Hospital Medical Device Reprocessing Department is currently hiring a Service Worker for causal hours. We are a multi-disciplinary team providing services to the Surgical and Endoscopy Suites for our hospital site. This is a great opportunity, our Service Workers deliver and pick up clean and contaminated case carts and instruments throughout the facility. They remove carts, totes/bins, and instrument containers from the cart washers. Pick and stock disposable supplies received from our stores warehouse. The workload is heavy and fast paced, you are either walking or standing all day long. You won't have interactions with patients. There are 3 different shifts daily Mon to Fri and a 7am shift on weekends.

Description:

As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site. You will distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

Grade 12 or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing & following written & verbal instructions in English. Adheres to the Canadian medical device reprocessing standards 2023, AHS, IPC, Provincial & department standards, processes, practices, guideline. Must be versatile to rotate through & complete assignments. Understands importance & follows through maintaining accurate records. Acts on potential problems by communicating to Working Leads.
