Service Worker I
Your Opportunity:
The Service Worker I - Diagnostic Imaging position is ideal for candidates who embrace the patient and family centered care model and enjoy a fast paced, dynamic work environment. The primary responsibilities include: the transportation patients within Diagnostic Imaging (DI), modality room support, general assistance with the preparation of patients for DI procedures, maintaining adequate stock of specific supplies in patient care areas, transportation of specimen samples. The Service Worker I is self-motivated, energetic, and consistently demonstrates initiative.
Description:
As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site. You will distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.

Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Current BCLS. Proven strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy environment with a calm, service-oriented, and efficient manner. Successful candidate must have the ability to adapt to stressful situations, using tact and diplomacy. Ability to work quickly with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to meet the physical demands associated with the job (i.e. pushing stretchers, wheelchairs, carts, as well as bending, and reaching). The successful candidate for this position should be willing and able to accept additional shifts if required.
Preferred Qualifications:Direct patient care experience and Diagnostic Imaging specific experience is preferred. Knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging procedures and corresponding patient preparation is preferred.
