Service Worker I
Your Opportunity:
The Service Worker is responsible for contributing to safe patient care and efficiency to units within the Surgery In-Patient program and elsewhere as directed. The Service Worker is responsible for properly maintaining and handling hospital equipment, supply ordering and monitoring, and handling/portering specimens throughout the Hospital. The Service Worker is also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of equipment as well as restocking supplies and linen. The Service Worker plays a key role in supporting clinic functions and patient care.
Description:
As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site. You will distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.

Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Excellent communication skills - fluency in speaking/reading/writing English. Ability to use computer. Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time as well as push/lift/pull moderate to heavy objects. Reliable and cooperative, with demonstrated effective customer service skills. Experience in hospital setting required.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with supply management. Experience in in-patient surgical units.
