Service Worker I
Your Opportunity:
Under the supervision of the management team and nursing personnel, the Service Worker at the SHC ICU/CCU will focus on ensuring that the necessary equipment is cleaned and in its proper location, and that once stock is delivered to the department, that the supplies are transferred to the needed locations throughout the unit to ensure efficient patient care. Responsibilities: Ensuring that all patient rooms, ante rooms, procedure carts and supply carts are stocked with the appropriate supplies and linens. Reports any missing or inadequate supplies, including tracking of direct purchase supplies, to team management or delegate. Appropriately cleans and organizes unit equipment into their designated areas to facilitate easy access and limited clutter. Establishes and maintains a regular cleaning program for unit equipment.
Description:
As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site. You will distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.

Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Ability to work well with others. Must have written and verbal English language proficiency. Must be able to work independently and accept accountability.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in a hospital setting preferred. Knowledge / familiarity with medical supplies and equipment preferred. Previous experience with Supply Management is an asset. Previous experience in a critical care area preferred.
