Your Opportunity:

Emergency Health Services-Alberta (EHS-Alberta) is the Provincial Health Corporation responsible for managing all aspects of Alberta’s Paramedic Services. This includes overseeing and delivering air and ground ambulance services, interfacility transfers, mobile integrated health services and dispatch operations. Additionally, Alberta’s Referral, Access, Advice, Placement, Information & Destination (RAAPID) service is under the responsibility of EHS-Alberta. Reporting to the Senior Program Lead, EHS Transformation, Strategy & Projects, the primary role of the Senior Project Manager is to provide varying levels of project management leadership and support to EHS leaders and teams across the EHS-Alberta organization. This strategic project management expertise may include project initiation, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing of EHS- Alberta projects as well as change management support. This position provides coaching, mentoring, tools and resources to EHS leaders and other team members to ensure organization consistency, alignment with industry best practice, and innovative approaches to quality improvement. The Senior Project Manager will be a crucial position in the newly formed EHS Transformation Team, who are establishing an EHS Project Management Office to better support the EHS organization. Within the Transformation Team, the Senior Project Manager will partner with additional Senior Project Managers, Change Managers, while working alongside the Policy and Accreditation teams.

Description:

A significant goal of Emergency Health Services - Alberta is to establish a common, system-wide approach to planning, approving, monitoring, and reporting on projects that have significant importance or bearing on the future direction of the organization. This includes building project management competencies and practices while ensuring key strategic projects receive appropriate project management support and controls. A similar approach to annual operating planning, aligned with the overarching EHS Business and Health Plan, is also key to driving organizational performance. The Senior Project Manager requires significant project management expertise and experience leading large-scale, interdisciplinary projects involving internal and external stakeholders. The role develops plans, manages resources, and supports teams in remaining accountable for deadlines and deliverables aligned with strategic objectives. As a relationship steward, the Senior Project Manager communicates and coordinates activities across stakeholders, builds effective working relationships, and supports collaboration toward shared outcomes. Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential. A strong understanding of EHS operations, service delivery, and the roles and practice environments of paramedics and other frontline EHS staff is a significant asset and will support effective project planning, engagement, and implementation. The Senior Project Manager identifies and works to address issues and risks that could impact service delivery, patient care, or EHS' reputation. The outcomes of this position directly affect strategic objectives and may impact patients, practitioners, leadership, departments, portfolios, and partner organizations.

Required Qualifications:

Post-secondary degree in a health care profession, business or related field. Project Management designation (PMP ®, CAMP®) or equivalent. A minimum of 5 years experience working as a Project Manager.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Professional Project Manager, Prosci Change Management, Risk Management Professional.


Preferred Qualifications:

Strong change management skills and the ability to influence positive change without having operational responsibility. Strong verbal and written communication skills to produce reports. Ability to understand clinical issues. Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others. Ability to develop and facilitate presentations. Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite. Broad understanding of health and EHS systems or background in similar service delivery agencies.
