We are seeking a collaborative and motivated Senior Project Manager to lead and manage complex projects aimed at improving health and well-being outcomes across the province. In this role, you will lead the planning, implementation and evaluation of health promotion, disease and injury prevention initiatives that focus on creating healthier, more equitable environments where the people of Alberta live, learn, work, play and heal. Description:

Reporting to the Healthy Places Manager, the successful candidate will: Lead all phases of the project lifecycle, from initiation to closure, including defining project scope, developing project plans, managing resources, and tracking progress. Build and maintain positive relationships with a variety of partners, including leaders, subject matter experts, healthcare professionals, and community partners. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success. Monitor and report on project outcomes, risks, and key performance indicators. Manage project budgets and ensure efficient allocation of resources. Communicate project status, progress, and challenges clearly and effectively to leaders and partners. Support teams and individuals through change by applying structured change management strategies, including the Prosci methodology and ADKAR model. Develop and implement communication and engagement plans to support successful adoption of new tools, workflows, or procedures. Foster a collaborative team environment by promoting open communication, teamwork, and knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications:

This role requires a combination of strong project management skills, knowledge of the healthcare system, and expertise in health promotion principles and strategies. Specifically, the successful candidate will demonstrate: A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in project management within healthcare, government or private sector, including knowledge of project management principles, tools and methodologies. Considerable experience coordinating and leading teams through project planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation. A master’s degree in health promotion, public or population health, public administration, healthcare administration or equivalent experience. Relevant education, training, or certification in project management from an accredited institution.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to foster relationships and partnership with internal and external partners. Advanced communication, facilitation, and team-building skills to support collaborative, cross-sectoral work. The ability to analyze and synthesize complex information and present it in a clear, accessible way to diverse audiences. Strong critical thinking, strategic planning, and high-quality report writing skills. A solid understanding of population health, the social determinants of health, and health promotion principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

Project Management Professional (PMP) designation preferred. Familiarity with settings-based approaches to health promotion.
