Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree in health sciences field.

Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum of two years direct experience working with First Nations, Métis and Inuit (FNMI) people in a research, clinical, community-based, health promotion, public health or social work setting. Progressive leadership experience in a clinical and/or research/evidence-based environment. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Proven abilities in complex problem solving, concerns resolution, investigation, and negotiation. Recognized as an effective leader, within a team environment, with successful experience in strategic human resource management. Familiarity with FNMI communities, organizations and history in Alberta. Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) required. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment. Demonstrated use of strategic thinking, taking into account long-term goals assessing options and implications. Ability to work independently with guidance in only the most complex situations. Experience in initiating and fostering positive relationships and partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders. Ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters or doctoral degree in health sciences field. Project management certification. Demonstrated relationships with FNMI communities and/or organization in AHS South Zone is considered an asset. Fluency in an FNMI language is an asset.
