Your Opportunity:

The position is responsible for the design, implementation and closure of priority primary healthcare projects to support the goals of the Primary Health Care (PHC) program and Primary Health Care Integration Network (PHCIN). These large initiatives will be provincial in nature, encompass multiple projects that have some level of project interdependency and involve multiple stakeholders across the healthcare spectrum.

Description:

The Senior Project Manager provides high-level leadership on projects for implementation locally and scalable provincially. This involves defining a program/project of tangible deliverables and benefits that have a significant level of interdependency, strategic importance and risk for AHS. Works with high-level primary care, AHS and government stakeholders to understand the project objectives and requirements to ensure outcomes will contribute to these expectations and deliver benefits in a cost-effective manner. Manages the creation of a project statement (charter) with input from executive sponsors, operational leadership and required subject matter experts and project team members. Develops tools, templates and resources to build capacity and competency in project management across program. Responsible for managing the scope, schedule and resources within the approved budget. Ensures processes and resources are defined to deliver a quality solution where operational areas are prepared and trained to accept the solution.

Required Qualifications:

A post-secondary degree in information technology, business or a related discipline or equivalent. Completion of a project management designation (e.g. Project Management Professional. Minimum 7 years of project management experience in a large and complex environment. Comprehensive/thorough knowledge of project management principles, PMO tools and methodologies, and project governance concepts. Extensive experience leading large sized project teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Clinical background/ degree in health field • Change management certification • Experience working in a complex matrixed organization Healthcare knowledge and experience preferred Expertise with MS Project, MS Office suite and Visio Experience teaching, coaching and/or leading others Experience developing learning resources, tools and templates
