Senior Financial Analyst
Your Opportunity:
The Accounts Payable Quality & Compliance and Data Governance team is part of Accounts Payable, Finance Shared Services Department. We have an exciting opportunity for a curious and analytical Senior Financial Analyst who is passionate about leveraging their financial expertise, technical data analytics and data mining skills to drive informed business decisions and contribute to organizational success. In your role as a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for managing various sources of information and large data sets. Compiling data, designing and preparing various monthly, quarterly reports and analysis such as compliance and monitoring, productivity and project reporting for various internal audiences to support business. Serving as the functional expert for Oracle EBS Accounts Payable and related financial modules. Troubleshooting system issues, coordinating fixes with IT or external vendors. Supports testing cycles (UAT, Go live) for patches, upgrades, and new functionality. (This includes preparing testing scripts and performing the scripts). Maintaining, updating and supporting the Oracle E-Business Tax (EBTax) system, ensuring tax configurations remain accurate, compliant, and aligned with business requirements; Providing support and/or vacation coverage to other Senior Financial Analysts in month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting activities, ad-hoc reporting, and meeting internal and external auditors reporting requirements, addressing audit concerns and identifying opportunities for internal control improvements. This position is eligible for remote work arrangement within the province of Alberta. This is a temporary position for a period of up to 6 months.
Description:
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will coordinate and/or prepare complex financial and statistical analysis and reports, along with providing interpretation of analyses and reports to support business and external requirements. Your work will be focused on budgets, forecasting, recommendations for program and/or cost efficiencies and development or enhancements to processes and controls. In addition, you will coordinate and monitor progress of financial projects, as well as coach and guide other department staff such as Financial Analysts.

Post secondary degree specializing in accounting or related field (e.g. economics, statistics).
Additional Required Qualifications:Post secondary degree in Accounting or related field, OR minimum 8 years’ experience with Accounts Payable functions, financial analysis and large volume data manipulation. Microsoft Excel (advanced knowledge using complex formulas and functions, Developer queries, designing interactive forms using visual basics).
Preferred Qualifications:Strong hands-on experience with Oracle E Business Suite (or similar ERP systems), especially Accounts Payable and EB Tax modules.
