Post secondary degree specializing in accounting or related field (e.g. economics, statistics).
Additional Required Qualifications:Knowledge of full cycle accounting procedures and financial statement preparation. Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in a progressively responsible position in a large organization, preferably healthcare, and in working with automated, interactive financial accounting systems. Must possess a high degree of initiative and decision-making capabilities. Attention to detail, as well as strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills are essential to this position. Ability to work well within a collaborative team environment, coordinate multiple priorities, and meet defined deadlines. Proficient in MS Excel and working knowledge in other MS Office Suite applications.
Preferred Qualifications:Professional accounting designation preferred. Candidates with significant progress towards completion of designation requirements and an equivalent combination of experience may be considered. Demonstrated experience coaching and mentoring junior staff. Experience in Oracle Business Suite is considered an asset. Ability to work with minimal direction and be a self-starter. Ability to work with highly sensitive and confidential information.
