Completion of post-secondary diploma in Accounting or related field (e.g. Economics, Statistics).
Additional Required Qualifications:Knowledge of full cycle accounting procedures and financial statement preparation. Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in a progressively responsible position in a large organization, preferably healthcare, and in working with automated, interactive financial accounting systems. Must possess a high degree of initiative, judgment and decision making capabilities. Attention to detail, as well as strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work well within a collaborative team environment, coordinate multiple priorities and meet defined deadlines. Proficient in MS Excel and working knowledge in other MS Office Suite applications..
Preferred Qualifications:Professional accounting designation preferred. Candidates without a designation may be considered if demonstrated significant progress towards completion of designation requirements and extensive experience. Experience coaching and mentoring junior staff. Experience in Oracle Business Suite and/or Meditech financial systems is considered an asset. Ability to work with minimum direction and be a self-starter. Ability to work with highly sensitive and confidential information.
