Description:

The Senior Director, Home and Community Care, Access and Transition Programming is accountable for identifying and addressing systemic variation, access barriers, service-delivery risks and emerging pressures affecting clients, providers and the broader health system. The position establishes provincial implementation requirements, monitors program outcomes and directs corrective action, program improvement or escalation where performance, quality, access or sustainability does not meet established expectations. The role operates in a complex, multi-agency environment requiring alignment across ALA Operations, contracted providers, Acute Care Alberta, Primary Care Alberta, Recovery Alberta, government, municipalities, community organizations and other health and social-service partners. Decisions and recommendations made by the Senior Director have provincial implications for client access, patient flow, quality and safety, workforce requirements, service capacity, resource allocation and organizational reputation. As a member of the Planning, Performance and Quality (PPQ) leadership team, the Senior Director is a trusted advisor to senior and executive leadership on access, service delivery, patient flow, care transitions, workforce, quality, risk, sustainability and emerging system pressures. The role leads complex provincial transformation, represents ALA with government and health-system partners, and directs a multidisciplinary provincial team responsible for program leadership and implementation support.
