Description:

The Provincial Pathways Unit (PPU) within Primary Care Alberta is leading the Alberta Pathways Hub Optimization Project, a province-wide initiative to improve access to referral and clinical pathway information through a redesigned digital platform. PPU is seeking a Senior Consultant to oversee project planning, stakeholder coordination, clinical content validation, reporting, and provincial implementation. This strategic role serves as a key liaison between project teams and leadership, ensuring timely delivery of grant-funded outputs aligned with PCA’s priorities. Reporting to the Program Lead, the Senior Consultant applies expertise in change management, system integration, and implementation to drive successful project execution. Lead project planning, execution, and reporting for the Hub Optimization initiative. Coordinate cross-functional teams across clinical, digital, and communications domains. Liaise between technical teams and pathway developers to ensure clinical accuracy and usability. Translate complex referral processes into accessible digital formats. Engage providers, patients, and partners to validate content and inform design. Monitor progress against grant timelines and deliverables. Support change management and communication strategies to drive adoption. Use data and feedback to inform continuous improvement. Apply expertise in implementation, system integration, and quality improvement. Escalate challenges to the Program Lead for resolution.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field with a minimum of 8 years of progressive experience. Demonstrated experience in clinical informatics and web-based digital design. Formal training or certification in change management, project management, or improvement methodologies. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams. Strong understanding of clinical pathways and referral processes. Experience leading complex health system projects involving multiple stakeholders.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Certification in quality improvement approaches (e.g., AHS AIW Green Belt, Lean Six Sigma, IHI) and extensive experience. Experience translating clinical content into digital formats. PMP or project management certification or extensive project oversight experience. Familiarity with IT/digital health projects and Alberta’s provincial health system.

Preferred Qualifications:

Clinical background is strongly preferred. Experience leading health system projects, ideally in primary care or digital health. Strong understanding of clinical pathways and referral processes. Skilled in stakeholder engagement, change management, and implementation science. Familiarity with Alberta’s health system is an asset.
