Description:

This position requires an experienced Senior Consultant with strong working knowledge of primary care and who can work with a high degree of independence. Working within a virtual team environment, the successful incumbent will be required to bring a unique skillset in planning and designing education and learning tools that support the implementation of provincial initiatives. Recognized as a high-impact agent of change, the incumbent will be familiar with new and innovative knowledge translation models and creative uses of educational technologies. They are also skilled at applying principles in adult learning, design thinking, user experience design, and systems thinking to create meaningful learning experiences. Examples may include: digital stories and videos, tip sheets, one pagers, campaigns, case studies and simulation. The incumbent will work collaboratively with team members within the team, as well as external stakeholders such as Alberta Medical Association Accelerated Change Transformation Team, AHS CoACT, and Primary Care Networks.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum university degree with at least 5 years of experience within a healthcare setting. Education or training and demonstrated abilities in Adult Learning, Educational Design. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered. Training and demonstrated abilities in change management and quality improvement practices and methodologies.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in facilitation, coaching, and adult education. Demonstrated ability to foster relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Experience in planning and implementation in a healthcare organization. Knowledge and demonstrated experience in project management including: execution, reporting, monitoring and evaluation. Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team as a contributing member. Ability to develop and facilitate presentations to convey information or transfer knowledge. Excellent computer skills including expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.


Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in communications, education, or a health-related discipline with relevant experience in educational and or instructional design. Certification in one or more of the following: AIW green belt, Lean Six Sigma, PROSCI, others. Master’s degree preferred. Knowledge of design program including Adobe PhotoShop, InDesign are preferred, and video production skills are an asset.
