Required Qualifications:

This role requires a combination of education and experience in health information and computer technology. Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Health Informatics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. A minimum five (5) years working in a healthcare related field, with experience in a Clinical Information System (CIS) or Electronic Health Record (EHR). An understanding of messaging standards such as HL7. A basic knowledge of controlled terminologies such as SNOMED CT, at minimum, is required, as is the commitment to continued education and staying up to date on terminology advancements.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Applicants must be self-motivated, have logical and critical thinking skills, be detailed oriented, and be able to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders. Excellent verbal and written skills are necessary to foster relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to support, troubleshoot, develop, manage, and maintain vendor applications/platforms. Must be comfortable providing strategic, technical and business, advice and guidance to the Program Director for solutions and continued program development. Experience in leading initiatives, projects, working groups, or a team of individuals.


Preferred Qualifications:

Certified Terminology Standards Specialist (CTSS) or SNOMED CT Terminology Services Certification or Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS/CPHIMS-CA) are preferred. Applicants with a commitment to complete certification will be considered. Prior experience with a terminology implementation and experience working in an electronic health record (EHR) environment or a clinical information system (CIS) are strong assets.
