Senior Advisor - Labour Relations
Your Opportunity:
Health Shared Services Labour Relations (LR) is recruiting a Senior Advisor to join the Provincial Labour Relations team. The team provides strategic LR expertise to Human Resources professionals who support operational leaders across Alberta’s health system. In this role, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to approximately 20 HR professionals, providing guidance on complex labour and employment matters to promote consistent labour relations practices across Alberta’s health system. You’ll support performance management, accommodation and attendance issues, collective agreement interpretation and administration, policy development, and strategic grievance management. You’ll also deliver LR education and coaching to HR professionals and leaders, participate in mediation and arbitration proceedings, and act as a labour relations expert, nominee and, at times, counsel in grievance arbitrations. Drawing from your labour relations knowledge, you’ll translate legislation, collective agreements, and arbitration jurisprudence into practical solutions. You’re a skilled communicator and relationship builder who can simplify complex LR concepts, build confidence and capability in others, and influence decision-making in a fast-paced, highly unionized environment. Health Shared Services (HSS) is a Provincial Health Corporation with more than 15,000 employees delivering corporate and non-clinical services that support Alberta’s health system. By providing specialized expertise and consistent services across the province, HSS enables health organizations to focus on delivering care. Join our team in advancing labour relations excellence across Alberta’s health system.
