Required Qualifications:

A four (4) year bachelor’s degree from an accredited post-secondary educational institution, with a focus in business, communications, social science, organizational behaviour, human resources, or another related field. Four (4) to eight (8) years of progressive experience in management, human resources, or another related field. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the healthcare industry or public safety industry.


Additional Required Qualifications:

This position requires: Proven experience in designing and implementing retention programs, particularly within a public safety setting in an organization of substantial size and geography; A strong background in employee recognition strategies with an ability to create both formal and informal appreciation programs that resonate with diverse teams; Skill in developing mentorship programs and career pathways to support staff development and long-term retention; Proficiency in English across written, verbal and multimedia formats, with an ability to communicate effectively across a variety of platforms to engage diverse groups; Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, interpret, and apply data to evaluate program success and inform decision making; Excellent organizational and project management skills with experience in strategic planning, resource allocation, and time management across large-scale initiatives; Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with staff and leaders to ensure alignment on retention and recognition objectives.


Preferred Qualifications:

A Graduate degree from an accredited post-secondary educational institution in human resources management, organizational behaviour, business administration, or another related field. Active certification with the Society for Human Resources Management, Chartered Professional in Human Resources, or equivalent. Certified Employee Retention Specialist (CERS), certification with the Association for Talent Development, the International Society for Performance Improvement, or equivalent.
