Senior Advisor
Your Opportunity:
This position is within Parking Services with Health Shared Services (HSS) and is eligible for hybrid working arrangement. The Senior Advisor, Technical Operations, will work closely with other team members and the Provincial Director to ensure parking systems and equipment support the overall vision of HSS. The core responsibility of the position is to provide technical leadership for the management and operation of the parking systems and equipment provincially. The Senior Advisor considers the sensitivity of all parking matters within the province, taking into consideration the diversity of clients, viewpoints and requirements to deliver a timely and professional service for HSS.
Description:
The Senior Advisor, Technical Operations, is responsible and accountable for the technical operations of Parking Services provincially, including the required analysis, development, design, implementation and maintenance of software and hardware in support of the vision, mission, and business plan of Parking Services. The Senior Advisor is a member of the provincial Parking Services leadership team and is accountable for ensuring that all parking systems enable the business to be effective and efficient in achieving the department’s strategic goals. The Senior Advisor is responsible for managing technology systems and hardware, providing key leadership and direction, overseeing technology projects, and supporting decision making. The Senior Advisor provides leadership, direction, and mentorship to a team of technical and administrative staff. As a leader, the Senior Advisor fosters a high-quality workplace with strong commitment to quality, process improvement, human resource development, and patient care focus. The position maintains knowledge of current market trends and operational best practices within the parking industry and applies this understanding to HSS Parking Services.

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or a related field. A combination of equivalent education and experience may be considered. At least five years’ experience in an information technology, technology management, or business administration role, ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. A proven track record of leading teams and the ability to foster partnerships to achieve organizational goals. The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, and to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Extensive experience in information technology or technology management in a leadership role, preferably in an organization of significant size and complexity. Preference would include experience managing in a unionized environment and dealing with complex and sensitive issues in a professional manner. Experience developing and implementing technology systems or projects in a complex environment.
