Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education (bachelor’s degree) with 5 years applicable experience (i.e. experience in a hospital/multidisciplinary medical institution with a strong understanding of of Medical Affairs and finance).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in financial management and analysis skills and knowledge. Demonstrated application of business planning, modeling concepts, and program and project management theories, principles and practices. Uses strategic thinking, taking into account long-term goals assessing options and implications. Effective communicator & facilitator skills with strong organizational skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Proven ability to foster partnerships and cooperation to achieve organizational goals within a large and diverse organization. Demonstrated advanced proficiency in the use of personal computers and various network and software applications (Outlook (calendar & email), Word, Excel, Power Point, Access). This position works with detailed data and high volumes of information so must have a keen attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and must put care into ensuring accuracy and compliance with governing policies, rules, and processes. Using good judgment to make independent decisions and work without direct supervision. Work performed is confidential and sensitive in nature and therefore requires discretion and tact when dealing with all levels of staff. Ability to work in a collaborative and team environment. Ability to work effectively with minimal direction. Flexibility/adaptability to management styles.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Masters of Health Administration (MHA), or equivalent. Knowledge of Alberta Health Services systems and processes including policies, legislation, and Medical Staff Bylaws is an asset. Experience working in a public sector with numerous public agencies, government, boards, committees and other partners.
