Join the Stollery Children’s Hospital Respiratory Therapy program, a dynamic multi-site department supporting neonatal and pediatric patients across the University of Alberta Hospital (UAH), Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH), and Sturgeon Community Hospital (SCH). As the Respiratory Therapy Technical Lead (RTTL), you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of respiratory care. You’ll oversee equipment needs, manage supplies within budget, and serve as a key resource for staff and leadership across all sites. Your expertise will guide equipment testing, Point of Care Testing standards, and the evaluation of new technologies. You’ll collaborate with managers, educators, and clinical leads to shape policies and standards of practice, while leading quality improvement initiatives that directly impact patient outcomes. This is a multi-site leadership position supporting all areas of the Stollery Children’s Hospital. As a Respiratory Therapist III - Clinical Practice Lead, you will be responsible for mentoring, promoting standards of practice, responding to clinical questions, and coordinating ongoing skill and student development within your team. You will collaborate with managers and supervisors in the provision and access to internal and external continuing education and professional development programs including certifications and upgrades.

Active or eligible for registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Graduate of a recognized Respiratory Therapy program with successful completion of the CBRC exam. Current CSRT membership. Current BLS certification (Heart and Stroke Foundation). Minimum 5 years’ experience in a tertiary acute care teaching hospital. Proven expertise with diverse Respiratory Therapy equipment and Point of Care blood gas systems. Strong interest and aptitude in testing, troubleshooting, and repairing critical care equipment. Solid understanding of ventilator waveforms and respiratory therapy technology. Demonstrated leadership and experience in Respiratory Therapy, supported by academic or practical training. Proficient in basic computer applications. Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Clear commitment to ongoing personal and professional development. Collaborative team player with experience in interdisciplinary environments. Skilled in building partnerships and fostering effective relationships. Ability to support and lead change in complex healthcare settings.
Preferred Qualifications:Onsite service training for respiratory therapy equipment. Experience in equipment maintenance environments. Neonatal/pediatric clinical experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Oracle, iProcurement, Markview, and eManager. Familiarity with EPIC or other electronic charting systems. Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences or Engineering. Prior leadership experience in Respiratory Therapy.
