Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Professional (BCLS-HCP) certification is required for this position. You must be physically capable of lifting, pushing and/or pulling a minimum of 4.5 kg. A minimum of five (5) years critical care or community experience, and current experience with home and acute care mechanical ventilators and their clinical application are essential. You must possess a high level of skill in the critical review of patient medical records as well as excellent case and workload management skills. This position requires an individual with strong independent and collaborative working skills and track record in establishing and maintaining effective, professional, and respectful working relationships with team members, leadership, and stakeholders. You are highly organized and very comfortable using Microsoft Suite programs and Adobe Acrobat. The successful candidate must have completed Ambulatory and Inpatient Connect Care ILTs and have a thorough understanding of Connect Care functions and navigation.
Preferred Qualifications:Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are strong assets. Previous or current experience with current home ventilators used by AHS, in facilities and in the community. Certification, participation, or experience in project management, change management, quality improvement, and working groups is preferred. Certification as a Respiratory Educator or other equivalent is preferred.
