Description:
As a Respiratory Therapist II, you will coordinate, monitor and assess clinical services in your assigned area. You will act as a clinical resource for daily operations, coordinating the work of therapy assessment and treatment in your service area, and assist in the development of clinical protocols. You will develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans and monitor the progress of patients (clients, residents) receiving advanced respiratory treatment. You will identify new equipment requirements, and establish and maintain adequate levels of supplies and materials for your area. You will be responsible for respiratory equipment, including but not limited to operation, procurement, maintenance, and quality assurance. You will participate in interprofessional patient, client or resident rounds, conferences and meetings where applicable.

Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Professional (BCLS-HCP) certification is required for this position. The successful candidate must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle in good working condition for professional use. You must be physically capable of lifting, pushing and/or pulling a minimum of 4.5 kg. A minimum of five (5) years critical care and community experience, adult and pediatric ICU training, and current experience with home and acute care mechanical ventilators and their clinical application are essential. You must possess a high level of skill in the critical review of patient medical records as well as excellent case and workload management skills. This position requires an individual with strong independent and collaborative working skills and track record in establishing and maintaining effective, professional, and respectful working relationships with team members, leadership, and stakeholders. You are highly organized and very comfortable using Microsoft Suite programs and Adobe Acrobat. Ambulatory and Inpatient Connect Care training is required.
Preferred Qualifications:Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are strong assets. Certification, participation, or experience in project management, change management, quality improvement, and working groups is preferred. Certification as a Respiratory Educator or other equivalent, and Ambulatory and Inpatient Connect Care training are preferred.
