Required Qualifications:

Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Professional (BCLS-HCP) certification is required for this position. The successful candidate must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle in good working condition for professional use. You must be physically capable of lifting, pushing and/or pulling a minimum of 4.5 kg. A minimum of five (5) years critical care or community experience, and current experience with home and acute care mechanical ventilators and their clinical application are essential. You must possess a high level of skill in the critical review of patient medical records as well as excellent case and workload management skills. This position requires an individual with strong independent and collaborative working skills and track record in establishing and maintaining effective, professional, and respectful working relationships with team members, leadership, and stakeholders. You are highly organized and very comfortable using Microsoft Suite programs and Adobe Acrobat.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are strong assets. Certification, participation, or experience in project management, change management, quality improvement, and working groups is preferred. Certification as a Respiratory Educator or other equivalent, and Ambulatory and Inpatient Connect Care training are preferred.
