Grande Prairie Regional Hospital is a modern regional referral hospital serving patients throughout northwestern Alberta and neighboring regions. The facility includes 11 operating rooms, a regional cancer centre, intensive care services, mental health services, and extensive educational partnerships with Northwestern Polytechnic. As the Respiratory Therapist, you will participate in the delivery of safe, high-quality anesthesia care and will be an integral member of a regional referral centre serving northwestern Alberta, northeastern British Columbia, and parts of the Northwest Territories. Grande Prairie is Alberta’s largest city north of Edmonton and serves as the commercial, educational, and healthcare hub of the Peace Region. Description:

As a Respiratory Therapist I, you will assess patients (clients, resident), develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans and monitor their progress. You will be responsible for various diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and interventions. You will collaborate with various clinical teams and groups to enhance clinical outcomes. You will provide training and assist health care providers in the use and care of respiratory equipment as well as educate patients and their families regarding diseases, medications, equipment and treatments.

Required Qualifications:

Active or eligible registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CRTA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
