Required Qualifications:

Minimum required BSc or equivalent degree in life sciences, with a strong grounding in molecular and/or cellular biology.

Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum of three years technical lab experience is a requirement working in areas such as molecular biology, gene sequencing and genotyping. Experience working with clinical biospecimens is an asset. Position requires a broad understanding of the basic principles of protein and DNA biochemistry, experience in method development, and the ability to apply this knowledge in problem solving. Knowledge and experience with mammalian tissue culture procedures, molecular biology research procedures and associated techniques (cloning, transfection, western blotting, etc.). Excellent communication, written and organizational skills, must be open to learning and development, and be willing to accept new challenges and assignments.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to work independently in accordance with standard operating procedures. Maintains accurate and detailed lab notes and equipment records. Strong analytical reasoning and decision-making skills are required. Strong verbal communication skills. Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint).
