Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a PhD in Epidemiology, Population and Public Health, Biostatistics or related health discipline with some experience in a research setting beyond doctoral training. The successful applicant will have an emerging track record of successful research demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications, research funding commensurate with stage of career, and maturity of their personal strategic research plan. Expectations for the current position include the establishment of a vigorous, sustainable, externally-funded research program (for which up to 75% time will be protected). There is also an expectation that at least 25% of time will be devoted to working collaboratively and productively with operational leaders, clinicians and other care providers to identify and address relevant research questions. In addition, they should have sufficient expertise and experience to utilize fully, or advise on the use of, existing cancer data holdings and other data sources to advance the principles of a learning health system for cancer care. They need to have diverse research skills that may be used in support of development and/or evaluation of new models of cancer care.


Additional Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have an appreciation of and aptitude for conducting cancer health systems science research with the potential to enhance cancer service delivery and outcomes directly. All members of the Department also have academic adjunct appointments at the University of Calgary and collaborate with other researchers at the Charbonneau Cancer Institute (https://charbonneau.ucalgary.ca/) and the O’Brien Institute of Public Health (https://obrieniph.ucalgary.ca/) in the Cumming School of Medicine. Appointments will be granted in appropriate Institutes and Departments of the University of Calgary at an academic level commensurate with experience.
