Required Qualifications:

Masters Degree (PhD if applying as post-doc trainee) in Social Science, Epidemiology/Public Health, Community Health Sciences, Anthropology, Kinesiology or a related field. Self directed with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, with an ability to handle multiple tasks. Excellent interpersonal and team skills with ability to work with little supervision. Strong written and oral skills for the use in the development of oral presentations, summaries, reports, journal articles, systematic literature reviews and manuscripts, etc.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to coordinate research initiatives across various sites. Demonstrated ability to establish strong communication pathways within an organization and across other agencies. Understanding of knowledge transfer, from clinical research, interventions, population health, and systems evaluation. Ability to liaise and communicate effectively with public health operational leaders, researchers, analysts, and diverse members of the public/communities. Ability to work simultaneously on a variety of elements of a project. Effective time management skills. Understanding of the population health approach and determinants of health. Ability to work effectively and with compassion within a public health environment that is experiencing rapid change and is in the midst of responding to a pandemic. Working knowledge and/or familiarity with several of the following programs: SPSS, SAS, NUD*IST, NVIVO, EXCEL, ACCESS, REF WORKS, WORD, POWERPOINT, OUTLOOK, ADOBE WRITER AND READER, FLASH, PHOTOSHOP, GIS etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

1-3 years' experience with quantitative and qualitative population based chronic disease research (desirable).
