Required Qualifications:

Comprehensive knowledge and experience working with Indigenous communities or populations. Strong knowledge of Indigenous health policy directions and strategies. Experience with quantitative/qualitative research methodologies in cancer and/or chronic disease research. Demonstrated skills and experience in research methods, particularly quantitative research methodologies and bio-statistical analyses, strong technical writing skills. and ability to translate complex scientific evidence for informed decision making. At least two years’ experience working with statistical analysis software (SAS or Stata preferred) Firm understanding of research design and methods. Self-directed with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, with an ability to handle multiple tasks. Strong written and oral skills for the use in the development of oral presentations, summaries, reports, journal articles, systematic literature reviews, and manuscripts, etc. Knowledge of cancer prevention modifiable risk factors, Indigenous research methodologies, health promotion and disease prevention, including strategies and best practice evidence related to cancer prevention.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience with Indigenous health research and methodologies. Strong background in applied knowledge and use of Indigenous Ways of Knowing, ethics and protocol. Experience working with a variety of Indigenous public, private, nonprofit and grassroots organizational structures. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Knowledge of project management methodology in a health care setting. Knowledge of Indigenous health, health promotion and disease prevention, including strategies and best practice evidence related to cancer prevention. Experience in literature reviews and synthesis of large amounts of information. Aptitude for building and sustaining complex relationships with key internal and external stakeholders . Strong computer skills and proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets and relational databases. Proficiency in SAS, STATA, Tableau.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree (preferred) in a health-related field and a minimum of three years’ experience in a population health-related field. Ability to navigate through AHS systems and processes is an asset.
