Completion of an accredited Psychiatric nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:One year of recent (within past three years) experience in an Adult Acute Addiction/ Mental Health nursing role. Working knowledge of relevant legislation is required, including the Alberta Mental Health Act and the Health Information Act. Working knowledge of psychotropic medications and psychopathology. Working knowledge of trauma-informed care principles is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as demonstrated accountability are required.
Preferred Qualifications:Education and experience that specializes in Adolescent/Young Adult Addiction and Mental Health assessment and treatment are preferred. Working knowledge of the CoACT model of care is an asset. Working knowledge of harm reduction model preferred.
